Chronic pain, repeated injury, or limitations in movement usually have their root cause in a "short circuit" of the nervous system that commands the deep muscles (Deep Core Muscles), so that the body compensates by using other muscles until working becomes distorted (Movement dysfunction)

At PYONG Rehabilitation Penthouse we put this problem right at the level of the nervous system, with the innovation of a suspension system to stimulate the nervous system and the muscles (Advanced Suspension Therapy), which uses the technique of suspending the body in a weightless state, in order to search for the "Weak Link" and to use specific vibration in order to "Reset" the brain so that it comes back to commanding the muscles that have fallen asleep to wake up and work perfectly once again, without pain

What is restoration with a sling system?

It is a system of ropes and slings for therapy (Suspension Therapy) designed specifically for treatment in physiotherapy and therapeutic exercise. The important heart of it is doing Neurac Therapy, which is treatment that emphasises stimulating the working of the deep muscles (Deep Stabilizing Muscles) that usually "switch off" when we have an injury or chronic pain, by using the patient's own body weight as resistance in a state without pain

The mechanism of working

  1. A closed weight-bearing state (Closed Kinetic Chain Exercise): training by having the forearm or the foot press down on a suspension strap that is unstable sends a signal stimulating the receptors of sensation at the joints (Proprioceptors) into the brain more strongly and more deeply than general weightlifting
  2. Controlled Instability: using the AXIS rotating pulley creates angular instability, forcing the brain to command the "deep muscles (Local stabilizers)" to exert contraction in order to support the joint automatically (Reflex activation)
  3. Compensating the weight in order to reduce pain (Elastic Unloading): using elastic straps (Bungee cords) helps support part of the body weight, so that the patient is able to move in the correct degrees without pain (Pain-free movement)", which is the important key that makes the brain willing to open itself to learning a new posture
  4. Challenging the central nervous system (Neuromuscular Overload): gradually reducing the help from the elastic, or increasing the instability, in order to create a load (Overload) for the nervous system to develop its capability continuously

Technical Specifications

  • Multi-Suspension System, a system of suspension points in several positions, in order to support adjusting the posture through 360 degrees
  • Vibration Stimulation, a device creating vibration whose frequency can be controlled, in order to stimulate the nervous system and the muscles
  • Elastic Bungee Cords, elastic straps that help support the body weight (Assistance), making the movement light, comfortable and safe
  • Sling & Straps Setup, straps for particular points to support the neck, the back, the hip, or the limbs, according to the symptoms of each individual
  • Axial Suspension, precise suspension along the axis, in order to reduce the compressing force on the joints (Decompression)

Examples of cases from medical research (Evidence-Based)

  1. Cases of chronic back and neck pain (Chronic Back/Neck Pain): research states that Neurac Therapy helps reduce pain and increase the stability of the spine immediately after the treatment, because the muscles that support the central axis (Local Stabilizers) are stimulated to come back to working in harmony
  2. Cases of restoring the capacity of athletes: training on the sling system helps increase "Dynamic Stability", or stability while moving, so that athletes have strength and can reduce the risk of repeated injury more than training on a general flat surface

Who is it suitable for?

  1. Those who have chronic pain: back pain, pain in the neck, the shoulder blade and the shoulder (Office Syndrome), or pain in the hip joint that has not been completely cured by the old methods
  2. Those who need restoration after an injury: such as after surgery, or an injury from playing sport, who want to go back to moving as before
  3. Athletes or those who love health: who want to increase the strength of the central axis of the trunk (Core Stability) and advanced effectiveness of movement
  4. Patients of the nervous system: who have problems of balance and the control of the muscles (Motor Control) and who need safety in training

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Q 1 : How does it differ from doing yoga on a sling or from general exercise with ropes?

Answer: This is a medical instrument that emphasises treatment in the form of Neurac Therapy by a physiotherapist, in order to put right the problem at the commanding system of the brain and the muscles directly. It is not merely exercise for general strength or flexibility

Q 2 : Does it hurt during the treatment?

Answer: It does not hurt. The important principle is training in a state without pain (Zero Pain Policy), so that the nervous system opens itself to learning and can command the muscles at its best

Q 3 : How many sessions of treatment are needed to see a result?

Answer: Most patients usually feel movement that is lighter, more comfortable and steadier from the very first session of treatment, but in order for the nervous system to remember it permanently, it is advised to receive treatment continuously according to the plan the physiotherapist determines
