The Alzheimer's rehabilitation programme at PYONG Rehabilitation
Cared for by a specialist medical team, with advanced treatment and rehabilitation technology, in the centre of Bangkok
Why choose PYONG Rehabilitation?
Alzheimer's disease affects memory, thinking, communication and daily life. Our programme brings together rehabilitation physicians, occupational therapists, psychologists and dietitians to plan care for the individual, with technology that helps train the brain and restore memory, all in one place at PYONG Rehabilitation Center, 11th floor, Gaysorn Tower (BTS Chidlom)
Symptoms commonly seen
- Memory decline, beginning with being unable to recall recent events
- Confusion about time and place
- Difficulty speaking, struggling to find the right word
- Difficulty planning or solving everyday problems
- Changes in mood and personality
How care works at PYONG Rehabilitation
1. Assessing cognitive and physical ability
Rehabilitation physicians, occupational therapists and physiotherapists assess memory, perception and communication together with physical capacity tests such as balance and muscle testing
2. Planning rehabilitation for the individual
Working with the patient and the family, goals are set for brain training and rehabilitation activity, drawing in the multidisciplinary team — dietitians, psychiatrists or other therapists — as needed
3. Intensive therapy and brain training
Cognitive training applications, practice in activities of daily living (ADL) such as bathing, dressing and light cooking, and occupational therapy to bring back the skills of everyday life, with progress reviewed every week
4. Managing mood and behaviour
Psychological counselling, treatment with transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and medication adjusted by specialist physicians, to steady mood and reduce stress
5. Educating and supporting the family
Progress is shared, and carers are taught how to communicate and how to arrange a suitable daily routine, so that care continues effectively at home
